Last day plans with a baby
Our first trip with baby Edie is coming to an end and we’re starting to think about what to do on our last day. We’re going to do Disney Springs check in and we are aiming to be back at the airport to drop off the car at 5pm. Any suggestions on what we can do to fill the time, not sure about a park as I will probably worry about getting back to the car and to the airport in time and not shopping as we’ll have dropped off our cases already. It will also be Father’s Day so I’m a bit worried about places being busier than normal

On our last day, we usually drop the cases off at Disney Springs, have a walk round there, let the kids choose a teddy from the Disney Store and play in the Lego shop, have a sandwich at Earl of Sandwich, then go to play mini golf, and off to the airport.

We tend to drop off luggage at Disney Springs then head to SeaWorld, only about 15 mins from airport and a bit steadier than the Disney parks.

Last year we did Disney springs check in and then went to animal kingdom to ride FOP for final time and then drove over to city walk to have a wander and food before heading to airport.

We’ve done a variety of things on the last day, but the best thing we did with our 3 yo last year was go back to MK. We’ve only done a park on the last day once before, the rest of the times we’ve just relaxed in Disney Springs, gone to the cinema etc.
In MK we kept an eye on the clock, and booked fast passes for the day and then kept booking them. I think in 3 and a bit hours we did, 5 FP’s, plus 2 standby’s and the parade. This was also on a Sunday. The parade wasn’t on the agenda but as we were making our way to the exit DD saw the front of it near the castle and got excited. We needed to be back at the car by 3 to get to the airport, so luckily we had enough time to watch it again. We made our way down Main Street, went to the toilets and by the time we got ourselves a good view it was just coming up. This meant we could also make a quick exit once it had passed. My only other suggestion, would be going to a water park, then you can have a shower before flying home. If you’ve got your own car seat, with bag, you can put your wet swimwear in with that and just rent towels at the park. This was my plan until DH suggested MK again. |

We’ve done all kinds of things but find hanging around Disney Springs tough going. I now tend to ask for a late check out in the room (1pm), and let the teens / young adult kids sleep late. Then eat at the resort. We and DH will get us and use the pool and then shower before leaving the room. If that’s not possible we get up and go to a park until the last minute. I no longer use the Disney Springs check in. Queue has always been short at the airport so I view it now as wastes holiday time.
