Definitely very 'selected' offers. Nothing cheaper for anything I've been looking at recently (eg school hols!)

There is 10% off today on the Virgin Holidays site.

I think it finishes at Midnight tonight.

Remember prices normally increase as an aircraft fills up so prices will gradually rise as seats are sold, this is normal practice.

Could you please price up your Virgin Holiday now and take a screen shot of the results and send them to me, I'd like to check it after the sale ends.

People were saying the same thing when Virgin Holidays had there sale on 1-3 Dec, so I setup quotes for a couple of different holidays and I have been monitoring these each week since.

A Virgin Holiday for a Family of 4 travelling in March staying at the All Stars and staying at the Polly came out as follows.

All Stars
02 Dec (with 10% sale) cost was £3448.20
04 Dec (no sale condition) cost was £3676.84
26 Dec (with 10% sale) cost is £3380.60

Polly
02 Dec (with 10% sale) cost was £6994.20
04 Dec (no sale condition) cost was £7538.04
26 Dec (with 10% sale) cost is £6926.60

As you can see for these particular holidays and I selected these at random the price is cheaper now than it was even in the first 10% sale at the beginning of Dec.

Please see the Virgin Holiday screenshots below taken on 02/04 and 26th Dec
Virgin is like the old tcd now a basic airline, the sale is a joke, you go to the sales in shops and you get 30-50% off thats what i call a sale, dont see anything cheap with virgin.

Hi jcjcjc
You never gave me the holiday you priced up, as I asked before, if you let me know what the holiday is I can check it with virgin holidays for you. There may be something specific in what you are after that isn't in the sale.
I take it you are pricing up a Virgin HOLIDAYS, holiday and not virgin ATLANTIC?

I must admit I haven't seen any 30-50% off florida holidays this year, I have seen some good savings but not 50%.

So what holiday have you been pricing up? what was the price before the sale started and what is the price now?

The reason I'm asking this is because we are trying to evaluate Virgin Holidays, their prices and their sale prices. We have already had one meeting with them and will be sending them a report this month. But to gather items for the report I need some facts.

This will occur normally, as when an aircraft is empty the seats are cheaper, as the aircraft fills up the prices rise quite a bit. The best way to compare sale and non sale prices is the day before the sale starts against the day the sale is on.

Out of interest if you price up your holiday now, does it show a discount on the total? If it does and it is only about 1% then that is the normal online discount and not a sale discount.

At the moment the sale is only on selected holidays. They have had a couple of 48hr sales that gave 10% off all holidays. 1-3 dec and 24-26 dec were two of them.

I've booked mine! Awesome sale :-)

Then again I booked it really in advance - for thi time next year, so the plane will be empty and therefore cheaper so that may have something to do with it...
