Custom forms
Hi
Has anyone used the customs forms available on here that can be completed and printed before travelling? If so, has anyone ever had any problems with them at customs at the other end? Thanks Deborah

What I do is right down the info needed and then just rewrite on the the form they give you, saves on getting the passports out at least then you now you have the correct form to give them, last thing you want is to be told to rewrite it on the correct form with 100 of people behind you.

Yes Spectro, the US Gov announced Feb 2015 the Customs Declaration Form 6059 was being phased out, supposedly by 2016 years end, the kiosks/IO will ask relevant questions. As recently as this week a 6059 Customs Declaration was unnecessary at MCO self serve kiosks but required if you were sent/using the IO desks.
A word of caution about the self print 6059, some IO's were/are refusing them, be careful, if sent away to complete you'll likely have to join the back of the queue. Utterly daft that the CBP made self print available but some IO's refuse to accept, left hand not keeping up with the right! |

We arrived on Saturday and the customs officer asked if we were bringing in any food, I told him what we had and he just said "fine" and gave me the form back.

Hi Chris, please can I clarify. Was it the immigration officer who asked what you were bringing in, before returning your 6059b declaration, or the customs officer, who usually takes the form after luggage collection?
I have our 6059b prepared to hand as it seems MCO haven't yet fully integrated the new system. Thanks Chris, have a smashing holiday |
