Painful Feet - Advice

So, this might be a bit of an odd post but I'm desperate! I've been to Disney World twice and as we all know there's a lot of time spent on your feet and my feet just can't cope with it, after a couple of days, I'm done. My feet are so painful that all I can ever think about is when I can sit down next and on certain days I'm in tears they are so bad. I've often worn crocs and whilst they are better than other shoes, they do not resolve the problem. I admit that I need to lose weight, so I'm sure doing that would help but there must be something else I can also do as I absolutely love my Disney World trips and desperately don't want my next one (October 2018) to be spoiled by this!

I'd love to hear any advice or just to commiserate with any fellow sufferers!

I could have written this word for word and feel your pain, literally! I too was bought to tears with feet pain and im sure someone will be along to correct me but I think this type of foot pain has a name?

Anyway, I think it would have been marginally better with trainers (I wore crocs and sketchers etc) I have lost around 5 stone since my previous trips so Ill report back to let people know if this cured it!

I took body shop peppermint foot lotion and kept it in the fridge, didnt stop the pain but was such a relief at the end of the day to rub in.

Hi, thanks so much for your reply, it's good to know that I'm not alone! Have you ever tried to wear trainers on your previous trips? And yes please do report back.

Have you got plantar fasciitis ? Pain in the arch making it unbearable to walk? You need a good fitting trainer with arch support. A good sport shop will test you and fit you with the correct support. Also a frozen bottle of water rubbed under your arch each night helps. There are lots of exercises on the net to do if you google them to help with it. I got it in 2013 and ended up at hospital being referred. Wedges were fitted in my shoes to help correct the arch . Never again will I wear sandals or sketchers or flip flops as I have never felt pain like it.

I have plantar fasciitis and was in agony on holiday last year. I'm not sure if that's what you have? I tride so many different types of footwear and insoles, none made any difference. I had to admit defeat and rest when I needed to ( after 10 min of walking), it was awful.

I don't have any answers really but I do exercises which help just a little bit and I have heard of steroid injections which I might find out more about if it doesn't settle.

Ive just worn these Skechers sandals for 2 weeks at Disney and my feet haven't hurt or ached anywhere near as much as they have in the past. They are so comfortable, much better than previous Skechers Go Walks that I've tried and have good shock absorption, so might be worth considering. I'll wear them every time now.

Wow, well done on the weight loss. I too am a fellow sufferer and could do with loosing a few stone. It is so hard though. I tend to go between trainers and crocs for park days but still suffer a lot at night with the pain. Can't even sleep sometimes.

I feel your pain. I have lymphoedema in my feet/legs which means they're constantly swollen and painful - thankfully strong painkillers and anti-inflamatories help. This limits my type of footwear though - I can't wear any footwear that goes over the top of the foot as it won't fit me, which means I can't wear trainers, crocs or anything like that. Anyway I have 18 months to find some :-)
