Star Wars can you get on it

Hi All

Wife is having a panic about the Star Wars - Galaxy Edge, and if we will get on both rides or not?

We go in August this year as we normally do due to school holidays etc, with persistence we've normally got everything we want to do done.

Is there any solace you guys can give here, if not I can see us going every day until it's done

Cheers
Mark

We are in the same boat. Going August and already worrying about it!
I've just been doing some planning today and have been leaving free days in case we have to just keep going back 🙄

You will get on them both as long as you are organised in advance and have downloaded the app. At 7 am you have to log in to book your place on Rise of the Resistance.

We were there last week and one of our apps hadn't downloaded properly so we got number 100 loading time when we did manage to log in at 7:05 am. This would have been around 3 or 4 pm if it hadn't broken down. As it did break down our loading time was 5:30 pm.

Smugglers Run had really long queues of 80 minutes at 7:30 am so we did the single rider line instead. That only took us 15 minutes and were really lucky because for some reason there was a hold up in the main queue so they pushed us all through and we ended up sitting together anyway! There is no wait time published for the single rider line so it can be a bit hit or miss. it was never under 60 minutes during the day and we saw it up to 120 during the busiest time. Quietest time was between 11:30 and 1 ish.

We were there over Christmas and rode both.

We were in the park at 5.50am for opening at 6, we got boarding group 98 by 6.10 and our group was called at 2.30.

Smugglers run wait time was 120 minutes by the time we walked to GE from main entrance.

If you want to ride and are prepared you will be fine

Can you join this while not in the park? I'm a little confused by this new way they have done this.

Do you think they will still be doing the boarding passes come August? Or do you think you will be able to book FP's by then?

I am not sure, we downloaded the app before we went to the park and signed in for boarding while we were there as we were getting there for opening anyway.

Can I just ask about the boarding pass process. Do all members of the party need to be in the park to get the boarding pass? I’m the only one with MDE, with everyone linked on there - would this work or do we all need to take phones with the app? (Not going until August but trying to work out if we’ve got to get there really early for Rise of the Resistance).

Someone elsewhere claimed to have spoken to someone at Disney who said the SW rides will both move to FP in July. This is bad news for us staying offsite in August I think.

Please don't panic at all, you will get to ride them...… I was at galaxys edge for opening day in aug and we rode smugglers run and experienced everything just fine, if anything in aug please worry more about sun screen and keeping hydrated.
