Booking before baby is born

Anyone booked a future holiday with a child that hasnt been born yet?

Im unsure if it will be an issue but surely people have done this plenty of times? Originally when ive look at dummy bookings the sites wouldnt let me put in the due date as DOB as its a future date. Should i just wait so that i know the exact date?
Seen a good deal for next year so eager to book but this is whats holding me back
Thanks

We have had guests that do this so it certainly happens.

Who are you looking to book with? If it is with a scheduled airline such as Virgin/BA etc you should do the booking and add the baby after it is born. You don't need to wait as you just phone up and add the baby when you have the correct details. Once you add the details you can ask the airline about booking the bassinet seat.

I suggest you phone whoever you are hoping to book with and double check their policy.

I know my brother has done this before. Their flights were with a scheduled airline.

Just book it without the baby and then add them once they're born. Thats what we did with both of our girls 😊

Sorry i didnt clarify, its a hotel and ticket package, no flights.
I would add flights at a later date and baby would definitely be here by then

Yep, we did before my daughter was born. Just added her on once she was born.
I had her passport photo done at 10 days old. And we travelled when she was 11 weeks.
Fantastic trip.

You'll have to pay the tax on the flight for a lap infant but that should be it

Children under 2 don't pay Air passenger duty... unsure of other taxes and charges though. We had the opposite problem, keeping daughter number 2 inside long enough to get home on a flight we booked about a month before Mrs Thorpy got pregnant
35 weeks on return flight. 36 is the limit.
