Has anyone been recently?

I've had this booked for a while as DD's wanted to come back to take part in all the shannigans, however a few months ago I'd read that the fun was being stopped. DD's would be gutted if it we went and everything was all serious.

Differing reports, last one I read said that they were still doing it but toned down slightly. TBH if it's now trying to portray itself as a "serious" restaurant then it's got a ways to improve it's food! The shenanigan's is the only reason to go !

We went a couple of weeks ago. It was very quiet to be honest and the only thing that they do now is the tomatoe sauce thing.
I was chatting to the server who said there is no longer the jail and wooden horse thing.
It just felt wrong, neither fun or serious. Food was just OK so won�t be returning. We had the skillet and left hungry!

I thought it was an 'all you care to eat' skillet - why didn't you ask for more if you were still hungry?

... because in our case the service was slow and the food wasn't good!

Thanks for your replies, I think I'll cancel as we have it booked for our last night and if it isn't the loud fun crazy place it was last time the children will be gutted.

Not quite the same...but perhaps 50's Prime Time Cafe as a replacement? It isn't as crazy as Whispering Canyon, but it has its own shtick... no elbows on the table, eat all your veggies, stand in the corner...if your server senses that you are into the fun - they will make it memorable. I went with family members that didn't know about the slapstick humor, and they were constantly 'picked on' for being on their phones at the table...rest of us were in tears from laughing at them. I hope they haven't toned it down there too! Plus you can get a great milkshake at 50's Prime Time (on the DDP as a beverage no less).
