Advicee re Disney Ticket Changes Due to Global Circumstances
Wondering if anyone has any ideas about tickets purchased via Disney direct, specifically US 1/2+ day date specific ones. I'm not sure in what circumstances they'd change them as generally they are non refundable, is it enough to say I'm not going due to circumstances, and would they cancel or just reschedule them? Or would we need to wait til flights are no longer going before they'll allow changes/cancellation. Guessing no one knows yet but appreciate any thoughts anyone has?

I'm also curious as we have bought tickets for a couple of After Hours events next month which say they are non-refundable. I'm guessing if we aren't allowed to travel then the only hope would be to claim on insurance? If the parks are forced to close maybe we'll get a refund? All very uncertain at the moment.

We certainly got a refund on the MK dessert party tickets when it was closed due to Irma. Would imagine it would be the same for this.

It depends on whether the theme parks close or not.
When Irma caused the parks to close then, yes, you were legally entitled to a refund because Disney could not hold up their end of the contract you both agreed to. They removed the MK dessert party and therefore they have to refund you. However, if all that happens is that USA stops flights from the UK (or the OP is from Europe and is due to travel after tomorrow) and the parks remain open, then Disney would not be legally required to provide a refund. In this case, it would not be Disney who is stopping people from using the tickets. In this case, Disney might agree to refund the tickets as a good will gesture, otherwise it's a case of claiming on insurance (if applicable). If Disney does close the parks then, yes, they should offer a refund for any date-based tickets that are affected. However, you can change the date of any date-based tickets beforehand. Apparently you can do this online or by phoning Disney. You will have to pay for any increase in price due to the change of date, of course.
