I cant see that option with BA this time, I have on previous bookings but maybe its due to flying in 5 days time.

I don't want to book just incase - I'm not expecting TC to bounce back but at the same time could there be any chance of Condor or another member of the group not going under with them & taking over the flights?

Feeling a bit stuck - and even more in limbo than before!

Can use 4hr cancellation with Norweigan (which we might do, I'll see if anything comes at midnight first) but 24hour periods are out the window for me since it's so close (has to be a week prior). May be of use to others though.

You could use the 4 hour cancellation, if there’s no news then cancel them (assuming you’re still planning to stay up). Then If you release them back and the news comes out, you may be able to pick up that fare again later on tonight. Seems like the lowest risk option to me, but obviously it’s your decision - good luck!

So we can fly!? I’m confused

They ( Thomas Cook ) still have a plane on the floor in Orlando and unless there is another longer route back to the UK , we will not see an official announcement until all of their planes are heading back home.
18.15 flight has taken off back to Manchester / 19.15 to follow.
They have 28 flights currently in the air heading to the UK


Just hope that anyone abroad actually gets to enjoy their holiday and does not have to spend the next two weeks abroad worrying about getting home, for those with big plans and going away soon , I hope other airlines step up to the plate. In years to come it may well be them that is in need of a rescue.

In the meantime - for anyone booked with them for the future a huge Dibb hug

I thought of this, but if I have to buy them twice (plus re-book airport hotel and parking as we live a 5.5hour drive away) it'll leave us very short until we get the initial refund. Hmm.
