If you travel over the speed limit in roadworks the fine is double

I think it's takes more than enough concentration to drive over there let alone go over the speed limit.

the speed limit varies on the roads you have to keep your eyes on the signs.

I once pulled into a car park but didn't have any change for ticket so I left it.

When I returned I had a parking ticket but thought "oh well, they'll never catch up with me".

A couple of weeks later I had the fine posted back to my UK address!

I had some dollars left over so I posted it back so that I didn't get "blacklisted" by car hire companies or refused entry to the US.

Don't exceed the speed limit, then you won't get caught.

Bear in mind also, with all the road works there are around, that you get fined double if you speed through roadworks while operatives are working!

We once got a ticket for parking against the traffic at the end of a short cul de sac to the beach in the Keys i.e we were parked right at the end so there could have been no passing traffic! We didn't realise this rule. However someone else had a ticket and was asking at reception in the hotel how to pay it. The receptionist kept repeating in a loud slow voice "we do not have a computerised system here, so they will not be able to trace you" but still the woman kept on "yes but how do we pay?". We took the hint and binned it. Mind you that was fifteen years ago so I suppose things have changed now!
