Best hotels near Universal ( LA) and why?

Heading to California to Universal and looking for a hotel with parking.
Would like to be as close as possible.(walking distance if possible)
2ad 1ch.
Can anyone recommend where is the best place/area to be in.
TIA

We stayed at the Hilton at Universal in January and loved it. Parking was easy (can't remember how much we paid sorry!) and it was a 5 minute walk if that to Universal. Our room also had a great view of Citywalk. Concierge was very helpful. Couldn't recommend enough!

We also stayed at the Hilton and would recommend it. Few minutes walk across to Universal and there is a regular shuttle. Nice spacious, clean rooms and a lovely pool area. We had a fab view of Hogwarts castle.

There’s 2 hotels I recall within easy walking distance, Hilton and I think Sheraton. Parking at Hilton was about $15 fiv years ago. Both quite expensive.

Hard to beat for closeness to Universal but not that practical for rest of LA.

We stayed at the Sheraton as it’s in walking distance of the park , at the time it was slightly cheaper than the Hilton .

About 4 miles from Universal Studio’s to Hollywood Blvd, it’s a very easy drive.

I would much rather stay there than on Hollywood blvd which I don’t find to be the nicest of areas.

Or there is a direct metro line between Universal and Hollywood.

Yes, we stayed at Hilton Universal for our entire LA stay and just drove to wherever we wanted to go. Didn't bother us at all!
