Sequoia Lodge Closed 2021?
I have been pricing up a Jan 2021 stay at SL and went to check today to see how much to add my brother on and its no longer available for late Jan 21.
Anyone know why? I cant believe its sold out for late Jan and Im sure I seen the other day that although its opening later than some other resorts this summer that they were taking booking for Oct 2020... |

Oh no, I hope it opens back up this year as we go mid November. I had an email from them today saying they would be getting in touch with existing hotel guests about their booking so if I get told it's closed during our stay I'll let you know.

I’m totally guessing here but I think it’s the hotel that’s most in need of a refurb. I think all the others have been refurbished in the last few years and I’m sure I read a while ago that the plan was to do this hotel next. I stayed at sequoia lodge 2 years ago and although it was still nice it definitely needed a bit of a refresh and an update, especially in comparison to the other hotels. They are maybe thinking if they have reduced guest numbers anyway they could be using this time to do the necessary work. Like I said totally guessing but I would have thought it would be scheduled for a refurb soon anyway.

Not open for bookings yet and no news as to when it will be.
It had a small refurb a few years ago but nothing on the scale of Newport Bay or Cheyenne. The next in line was planned to be DLH once Art of Marvel opened, but they may have decided to do Sequoia next instead.

I've been looking for September 2021 and SL isn't there when I search on Magic Breaks, but does come up when I search directly with DLP.

I rang them a few weeks ago to discuss my November booking and they offered me a free upgrade to Newport Bay Club so I happily accepted. They did not know when it might open up again.

I'm pretty sure you can. This is taken from the website:
'If you have a booking at Disney’s Hotel Sequoia Lodge: if you want to maintain your booking date, you can enjoy a free transfer to Disney's Newport Bay Club Hotel with the same booking features (subject to availability) you can cancel your booking without fees and receive a refund. NOTE: If you want to stay at Disney’s Sequoïa Lodge at a later date, you can choose to cancel your booking without fees and make a new booking for an arrival between 1 April and 30 September 2021 at the current available rate. Bookings are available until 19 August 2020. We will refund the difference if the price is lower, and you will have to pay the difference if the price is higher'. So looks like it re-opens on 1st April 2021. Edited at 09:05 PM. |

I had a look at prices in April and Sequoia Lodge has reappeared for booking but Newport Bay is only £40 dearer and includes the €100 gift card plus half board dining where as sequoia lodge is only the room. A no brainier. Very strange though.

It's on the website that they're doing work to the facade from next year.
