Exactly how hot is hot?

Yes you read it right and perhaps think I am a little bit strange

Overhere, in the UK, anything between 18-23 degrees, to me, is hot. And anything more than that will have me melting. So... we are going to Florida in May, and I have read many posts on here where people are talking about the heat. That its like no other type of heat. So can anyone describe just how hot it actually is that time of year?

I know this may sound odd but to me it seems a normal thing to ask.

I cant comment on may as we go in august which is hotter than a hot thing from hotville.
Melting like you said. Takes a couple of days to get used to it for me and during that time it quite uncomfortable as your tshirt gets very sweaty. Stuck to you. Glad when it rains... but still the heat is ace

May is a nice time of the year. Not as hot as it gets later in the year.

It helps that the parks aren't crowded.

Everywhere is air conditioned so should you start overheating just get yourself into a shop and cool down. Drink plenty of water and you will be fine.

Well your going to melt

May can get hot but it's not unbearable heat. Use plenty sunscreen take advantage of shade and aircon and in a couple of days your body will get used to it.

We always go in May. This year it was 'cold' - some days down to 75 degrees and at the hottest only 84 degrees. I even wore light trousers one day!
Last year (or was it the year before? they all blur together...) there was a May heatwave and it was 94 degrees at its hottest and up in the high 80's all the time. That was blurry HOT and I LOVED it.
So you take a chance I'm afraid. But in May the heat is not so sticky as it is in the summer so you tend not to notice it quite so much.

I've been at the beginning of September and December/January.
It was hot in the September, and between 25-28 in Dec/Jan, but I didn't find either too hot tbh.

Now, Vegas in September and Egypt in July, they were extremely uncomfortable - I found the heat in Florida very different and easier to cope with, especially with the short burst of heavy rain we had each afternoon in the September.
