We were there yesterday and everything was a walk on apart from the rides in Fantasyland as all the little ones could ride these. Loved Mistic Manor and how most rides were slightly different to FL & Paris.
Prices were cheaper than other parks too. I purchased tickets online from DLHK with the meal/snack combo. As I had set up an account, I got free Uffy luggage tags, free cast members pin when purchasing another, $20Hk discount plus others. They also had some great offers on merchandise. We loved it and had an amazing day.

Do you think the lack of crowds is because of the protesting issues? I am headed there form the US later next month (going for their 10k event) and will be staying at one of the DL hotels, but would like to get out one weekday to see Hong Kong. I am going alone, so am a little concerned. How was the rest of your stay there?

We were there end August during the week(Mon-Thurs) and if you were not aware of the news you would not know that there had been any issues. Everyone was just going about their days, no problems for us at all. Not sure about how people fare at weekends, but weekdays were fine. I think it’s always a quiet park, particularly during the week.

We have been to HK before so had already seen the majority. Plan was to do Disney and also on Lantau Island, the cable car and giant Buddha (only 1 stop from Sunny Bay which is where you get Disney train). We kept our eye on social media regarding protests and only saw one peaceful demo in shopping centre but we're advised to leave the area. Hotel staff will advise if any planned if you are unsure. It didn't put us off but just have to keep your wits about you and be sensible.

we went on a monday mid august as above everything was walk on, the only small @15 min wait was the parachute drop as this is a slow loader.. other than that we just go on whatever as many times as you fancy

no rude people no pushing shoving all very civilised

ref the protests we saw protestors out & about on the metro etc but no trouble as such

even had a meal in a restaurant in fortress hill & everyone bar us was a young protester all in black with hard hats on ! a little sureal but no bother whatsoever..

we travelled out to lantau on the metri / cable car well worth the trip

My daughter is off in January to study at the University of Hong Kong. She is hoping to visit DIsneyland whilst there. Can you do it in one day? And any tips for must do rides? She's been to WDW Florida 3 times as a child and loves thrill rides.

We were there in October (see my HK trip report!) and it was very much doable in a day because of the lack of tourists.

My son can’t wait to get back to his university in HK!

Hi Mel
That's good to hear. She's been looking at the rides on the website. Plane ticket is booked now so it's actually happening!

When is she flying? O is back on 25th via Heathrow with BA. A bargain at €440 return!
