Royal Carribean cabins?

Hi all, having only been on the Dream, we are finding other cruise lines a minefield. A lot of the rooms look like if you have 4 in a room the only option is 2 sets of bunks and even when you do have a double its actually 2 singles. Is this always the case or does it depend on the class of the ship?

We have found it very difficult to navigate most of the cruise lines web pages. They dont seem to have galleries.

Also I know you can get a soft drink or alcohol package, but what drinks come as standard for other cruise lines?

With regard to the beds, the cruise lines we have sailed with have a six foot bed in each cabin which can be split up into two three foot singles. The singles is what we prefer as the space at each side of a double bed (roughly 18 inches X 2 in our cabins) is doubled when the single beds are pushed up against the walls. So we end up with much more usable space. On our P&O cruise last year, we had a balcony cabin which slept four in a big bed and two bunk beds, suitable really for only children.

We went on Harmony of the Seas in Nov 2017. 4 of us shared a Promenade cabin. These are inside cabins but look out on to the Promenade and we didn’t feel claustrophobic at all.
They were bigger than a inside cabin, came with a large double bed and a sofa bed. The sofa bed pulled out so the single beds were separate. We also had a window seat looking out to the promenade. It was triple glazed and there was no noise at all. We were very surprised at how big the cabin was and we were barely in the cabin except to sleep in it.

We bought the refreshment drink package which included specialty coffees, soda, non alcoholic cocktails, bottled water and fresh orange juice. Thus cost about £13 each two years ago. This was worth it even if you only had 2/3 drinks a day. I’m sure it was just water, cordial and tea/coffee from a machine without a package. Once you have purchased your package keep checking the planner because you can cancel and rebook if a better deal comes along. I cancelled a couple of times. The drinks were quite expensive to buy oop. We took 2 bottles of wine onboard but you would need to check if this us still allowed. The alcohol package was very expensive.

I would also maybe look on cruise critic forums for further information.

Thanks both. I know people always say you can cancel and rebook but I wasnt sure if that applied to the UK as they can do that with the cruise price and we cant, so that's great to know.

Using cruise critic we actually found a block of 8 rooms at the back of Symphony that are ocean view but are very big. They have a double bed, a sofa bed but also a hidden set of bunks so they sleep 6 and it's perfect to keep the children separate! So we are all booked. Yay!

We are on Symphony In August! Did Harmony in 2018 and Mariner in 2019. Loved them both. We get 2 interlocking internal cabins so everyone has a bed and we have 2 bathrooms. Works v well for us. We sleep great and dont find it claustrophobic.

We’ve sailed with RCI five times (three on Freedom, once on Harmony and once on a ship that is now part of Marella fleet). We’ve sailed with Marella once.

All of our cabins on RCI have been interiors - it’s the best sleep we get all year . We are only in our cabin for showering and sleeping. All of our rooms have had a king bed which can be split into two singles and a sofa bed.

Apologies, should have said, we always opt for a drink package as, even though we are not big drinkers, it makes sense as includes bottled water, soft drinks, freshly squeezed juice. Add on a couple of cocktails and we’ve had more than our money’s worth.
