You can upgrade after the free DDP ends and provided your new booking is more money, there is no charge. I have a booking for next year for 1 person with a £50 deposit, will add on others nearer the time. I've already changed from POFQ as OKW became available and it gave us an upgrade from QSDP to DDP at not much more cost, and a deluxe resort.

We’ve moved from por to akl to yacht club all after free dine ended lol . As long as there is free dine rooms availability you are good to upgrade .

Is that right as OP is currently at AS so doesn't currently have free dining but just free breakfast which is a different offer. I know moving from moderate to deluxe works but I'm not so sure free breakfast and dining plan are the same offer.

Free breakfast is only offered when free dining is on, so it's all under the same free dining umbrella. So, if they upgrade their resort, they'll get the upgraded offer that went with that resort at the time of booking.

Good point, might be worth giving Disney a ring to check . Does the free breakfast end the same date as free qdsp and ddp ? I would have thought it’s they same as moderate to deluxe but worth checking unless someone comes on who’s done it

Disney’s terms say that you keep the same conditions of booking as the original booking. The free breakfast is still under the free dining umbrella so you would then get whichever dining plan was linked to the new hotel. Technically the OP should also get the gift card.

one word of warning though
you will be able to change accomodation IF there is availability, under your rate (free dining) at the hotel (or dates) you want to move to even if the deal has ended, the system remembers what rooms were eligible to the free dining deal and a room must be available, under your rate, for the total duration of your stay but, if all of the rooms at the new hotel were booked under the free dining offer, you WON'T be able to move there, unless you make a new reservation and forfeit your free dining so, the sooner you do it, the more likely you'll be allowed to move. the longer the stay, the less likely a room will be available under your rate for the whole duration of your stay if you have a value booking with free breakfast and go for a moderate, you'll pay the price that was current at the date you booked your value+free breakfast, and you'll get free QSDP that came with the moderate (not sure if you can also get the free gift card though since it was excluded from the offer you booked) but, well, the thing to remember is that availability is limited, under the free dining deal, so, being able to move hotels is not guaranteed. It a room is eligible, then no problem |

Not strictly true. It certainly used to be the case but I was waiting for OKW for this year and the CM I spoke to said that basically if it was on the website it was available and this was after free dining finished. This was true of CBR and CSR both of which we switched to at various times after free dining had ended.
