Mobile Airport to old town - directions with tolls

We got caught out last time arriving at an unmanned booth with no change, so we had to jump it. This cost us a fine payable through virgin.

Any of you have directions from Orlando airport to Old town which is quick, easy and steers clear of tolls?

The is no alternative to tolls that is quick and easy. You could follow Boggy Creek road to the 192 but it won't be quick.
If it's an Alamo car just drive through the Etoll or Sunpass lane and it will cost you $3.95 plus the toll and will be billed in about a month.
Alternatively ask at the first toll booth for a few dollars worth of quarters.

Doing that trip without tolls takes about an hour, with tolls about 30 minutes. It depends what value you put on paying up to $6.00.

Also, if hiring through Virgin you're hiring with Alamo. The fee for using the automatic tolls with Alamo capped at $19.75 for the entire rental period (otherwise $3.95/day as Greyfriars said), then plus toll charges obviously. Personally that's a price I'm more than happy to pay for the convenience of using faster and easier roads plus the convenience of not having to pay with cash. The SunPass website has full information on how each car rental company's program works and the cost involved.

If you definitely want to avoid tools then Google Maps is a great tool to use to pre-plan a drive and has options to avoid tolls when routing. From Orlando International Airport (MCO) to Old Town it suggests heading south on FL-527A (Boggy Creek Road), join FL-530 (Simpson Road) and then US-192 (Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway) and follow that to Old Town, which is what Greyfriars suggested.

With Google Maps bear in mind it shows travel time in current traffic. In the left sidebar you can click "Options" to toggle routing options such as avoiding tolls.

Yep. It sounds like you're hiring through Virgin (Atlantic or Holidays) so you'll be using Alamo, and they have one of the best rental car SunPass solutions. Just use the express lanes and your card will be charged shortly after you're back home.

I Know exactly the booth you are talking about . First time was in an Avis car and we just managed to scrounge enough quarters. Second time was in an Alamo car so just drove straight through with the sunpass.

The Total price for sunpass and tolls was tiny when we got home so planning on doing the same this time and driving straight though.
