Same here, i think i would choose the early seating in future as it was a rush to get to the shows sometimes too, especially on the last night when there is alot going on & you have to put your luggage outside your door.

Oh dear - half wished I hadn't asked this question now as I'm not sure what to do!
Think I might contact Dreams Unlimited and ask them whether I'd be able to change to the early sitting as 8.30pm might be a bit late for the kids. Thanks for your opinions though! |

We had late sitting & loved it!
Our DS would have hated getting ready so early as he was having such a great time in kids areas! We are late eaters at home really too so it suited us better. We had our 20month old with us too & we found it best to feed him B4 dinner through room service, then he could just 'snack' or 'sleep' during dinner! Worked so well for us, we've booked it again for next trip! I think I'm right in saying that both sittings are 'staggared' slightly, so you could end up with 8pm, 8.15 or 8.30...We had 8pm so hoping for that next time. Apparently late sitting has a few less kids too which we prefered!

We also had late seating, and would definatley go for late seating again next time! It was great not to have to rush to get ready for dinner, we slept in and missed breakfast then had a long lazy lunch that kept us going through until our late seating, if the kids got hungry around 5ish then they would just a snack from Pluto's or room service. After that we would bimble down and watch a show, and still have plenty of time to get ready and have a pre dinner drink.
The big bonus we found with late seating was that on a couple of the nights there were a few shows that none of us really felt like watching, and at 5pm the pool areas just emptied out, people going for dinner or getting ready to watch a show, so the kids had the pools virtually to themselves for a couple of hours and Steve and I had a whole hottub to ourselves which was bliss |

We had the 8.30pm seating and we were definitely mixed about it. Two of us found it to be great time, as we could leisurely get ready and there was plenty of time to enjoy the ports. However the others did not like it as it was too late for them to eat and found by the time we had finished our meal (around 10pm) they were just too tired and thus felt they did not enjoy the meals as they would have liked to.
We have decided on our next cruise to request the 8.00pm seating, so that it is slightly earlier, but so that we have plenty of time at port . We are also hoping to get to enjoy the desert buffet this time as we to were just too full to try anything (even looking at it was making us ill) and this was not like us at all! It does depend on your party though and I think there are definitely pros and cons of either.

All our cruises have been early, we enjoy any buffets and room service late at night. We like to eat then go watch a show and relax and have a drink, would not enjoy the other way around.
We always eat 6-7pm home and on holiday.

We did the early seating and would definately go for later next time. We normally eat later at home but had booked the early so the kids could eat with us. As it turned out our 11 year old wouldn't come out of the lab long enough to eat while the baby was tucked up in Flounders! So we ended up eating alone each night. It was bliss!

Our first cruise on the Wonder we had late sitting, last Sept on the Wonder we chose the earlier sitting and for us it was a lot better and wouldn't do 8.30 ever again, for us after we had eaten on the late sitting like others we felt well stufffed / tired and just wanted to go to bed Couldn't eat anything at PITC party night either
Last Sept was a complete different experience for us, enjoyed the cruise even better than the first time, nothing better than sitting on deck having a beer in the pool then later on getting stuck into the PITC buffet which we missed out on last time. 1992 Oct.
