october flight prices

hi guys what would you expect to pay for direct flights in October? Probably looking at flying either last few days in sept or beginning of October. Also is it still quiet in October? I’ve only ever been in mid-late September. The plan would be to come back before the Columbus Day weekend kicks off. Thanks

Hi nicki, are you talking about this Oct or 2018?
If 2018, i booked our 2017 Oct flights with Virgin as soon as they came out last December. Economy from from Gatwick were £450 and PE was £650 Rtn. no brainer for me so i booked PE.
We have always been in Oct, no its not quiet, but it can be quieter, if you plan it right using the DIbb guide. With Halloween it is still a popular time of year but we just love it then. Still lovely and hot and as i say, plan it right and you can get a lot done. To be honest i wouldn't go any other time of the year...

2018 ive budgeted £1500 for two of us and I was hoping I could get PE return for that but looking at current prices for 2017 that seemed out of reach! so they are cheaper when they are first released then? with September flights I always found them cheaper in the Xmas sales rather than first release- thanks for the advice

Hi Nicki, unless anything dramatically changes I reckon £1500 will get you PE rtn with virgin if you get on the site as soon as they come out. I Did book direct with Virgin Atlantic so the tickets are non refundable etc, but well worth it...good luck...
Oct is great... I can't wait...

We've booked a virgin flydrive for next October, won't pick up the car though, we're going in school holidays, just into October half term & following week, paid £550 each, which I didn't think too bad for direct in school holidays so you could get a fair bit less I should imagine if your going out of school holidays

Im looking to go last week of september / 1st week of october. We usually go start of May, im hoping the weather and the crowds will be similar aswell? The prices seem similar which is usually a good indication.

I booked our flights in early January for end of October this year. I found the prices on Virgin ridiculous but managed to get PE for £710 each through Netflights using Delta code share. I think your budget should be enough

I got PE for this October with virgin from Manchester. Not when flights first came out though...that was November and they were ridiculously priced then. I booked in the sale which started on December 21st and got it for £650pp both ways. ( economy was £550). I had to be flexible on flight day though...we're going on Monday 23rd. To fly over the weekend, or any time the previous week was around £8/900 pp economy. Suits us as it's the first day of half term!

I never realised you get PE at such a fab price. That's fantastic!
