Should we get a cabana and where?
So next time we go Orlando the grandparents are coming with us, they don’t like all the rides/slides and prefer to relax, however they do like to feel included and watch the kids enjoying themselves.
We decided a cabana would be a great way of having our own little ‘base’ where we can all relax, eat drink etc... however torn as to where the best place to get a cabana is. We’re going Discovery cove and Volcano bay. Part of me thinks discovery cove because of the dolphins and it’s so beautiful, then the other part of me is thinking Volcano bay as we get our own ‘screen’ where we can book on to the slides at the cabana instead of running round the park to get in line, to then walk back again to our seating area and wait. Has anybody ever got a cabana at one of these places and have a preference? Or is there any key differences between the 2 cabanas? Thanks |

We've been to discovery cove twice and had a cabana each time. I haven't been to volcano bay so can't comment on that.
We loved having a cabana at Discovery Cove but others say that as your so busy all day you don't need one. For us it's our little bit of space plus my mum isn't a strong swimmer so she enjoys sitting and reading in it. When we went last time there was a thunderstorm overhead and they made everyone come out of the water and wait under shelter. We were able to stay in our cabana relaxing rather than waiting with everyone else in the . |

That’s interesting to read you were able to stay in your cabana during a thunderstorm. We had to leave ours but we were nearly ready to leave the park anyway so didn’t mind,

We allways get one at DC. Not been to VB but they seemed very expensive but i guess it depends on when you go.

A cabana at DC would be a good idea. You can request an area but it's not guaranteed. They do have them overlooking the dolphin pool which we enjoyed but we prefer the ones to the left of Grand Reef. They are near Sea Venture and there are about four of them that overlook the reef and have a nice private beach...these are our favourite

Thanks everyone for your feedback. Are the cabanas at DC shaded? That will be ideal for the kids but we have 2 sun worshippers? Thanks
