:) Dreams Unlimited

Hi
I have read that some of you swapped your cruise reservations to Dreams unlimited to get a better price and/or on board credits.
My booking has been done through Travel city direct is this something that i am able to do or does the booking have to be done through DCL originally to do the swap.
Thanks for any tips.

Pretty sure its only from DCL bookings TO DU but I could be wrong!
I think as TCD is a UK agent you won't be able to transfer...Maybe even worth cancelling with them & re-booking with a US agent as they are SOoooooo much cheaper for cruising!

Would never book a cruise with UK agent.
DU don't give any better prices than Disney, they have a fixed price policy (unfotunately UK agents charge more) what you do get is extra onboard credits ontop of what Disney offer. Also they are supposed to contantly check prices and any drop in price DU will get your price reduced, it does happen but rarely.

Can't remember who, but someone on here cancelled a cruise with TCD last year, and rebooked with DU and saved around £200...and that was only for a short cruise if I remember correctly.

TCD shouldn't charge you for cancelleing if you are over 75 days away from sailing (if they do it shouldn't be much, as DCL don't charge anything for cancellations up to this point for most categories of cabin).
You can't transfer a cruise from a British travel agent - only from DCL to a specialist US cruise T/A.

Lots of people on here have used DU - proceed with confidence ...particularly since the weak dollar means even better rates for us Brits !

It was meeeee! . Cancel with TCD. We weren't charged for cancelling and we saved £637 on a 3 day cruise! . TCD were charging almost £1500 and we were just over $1600 with Dreams. Didn't get the same stateroom number but it was only 2 doors away! .. A couple of weeks before we travelled we were given a free upgrade from Cat 8 to Cat 5! . Only thing TCD included which US TA don't was your gratuties for the cruise but when you count them up they do not come to anything like £637! . You will also get Onboard Credits from US TA you don't get them from TCD.

Hope this helps.

Dreams are so easy to deal with by email. Only thing you have to remember when waiting for a reply to emails is that there are 7 hours time difference.

Agreed with it - never book in UK! Huge rip off. I told Jackie about it.

We booked with DU and they were cheaper than DCL direct. Only by about $30-$40 per cabin but cheaper nonetheless .. more pennies for my Bahama Mamas!

The odd booking does go thru a few $'s cheaper but no idea why, they are supposed to be exactly the same price, I have 3 cruises booked, all quotes were the same direct with Cruiseline and DU. only difference was the onboard credit. One was only $25 extra credit so left it with DCL.
Maybe its because we only cruise at peak times in school hols and they get a small discount for off peak? no idea.

We too have never found anybody to be cheaper that booking direct with DCL, although we have transferred booking to DU to get extra OBC's.
