Men ...and shoes!

My DH is a trainers man, with trainer socks.

He can't walk in flip flops. Actually, it's entertaining to see him try!
I don't think he would entertain crocs...

So any recommendations on footwear for the Cruise? I mean for around the pool etc. where my DH would either hop barefoot across a hot surface or sir and dry his feet and put his trainers back on!

Suggestions please, to move my DH into the 21st Century

was going to suggest reefs, but guess you could say they are a bit like flip flops, i got a pair of croc toepokes, really comfy, i don't like the full crocs, even if they are comfy but i'm quite happy with the toepoke type.

DH got some deck shoes from Walmart ...but they rubbed him, so he was back to the trainers after a day ...

They (the trainers) did not pose any social, political or physical problems on the cruise, so if he is happy in them, let him keep them on

PS. ...I don't recall the decks being hot to the touch on barefeet.

My DH is only a trainer man too!
The only thing he does differently on hol is ditch the sox!(except when lots of walking is involved!)
Usually the 1st place we visit on arrival to Orlando is the Nike store to get his 'new' trainers for the hol, which is generally about 3 pairs each for him & DS!
At least that way he has decent ones on, instead of old, smelly ones!LOL!
DH & DS wore their trainers all the time on our cruise..At least 'Sneakers' are the footwear used mostly in USA!

Skechers do some great trainer type shoes for men... usually buy one get one half price in the Premium or Prime outlets...they're a bit dressier looking that the likes of Nike trainers etc... and look great with beige/khaki cargo shorts and jeans

Yep, my DH is exactly the same. The only thing he will wear are trainer-mule type things - trainers with no back on. He's got some Adidas ones that he's worn for years. There's no way I'd ever get him to wear toe posts.

Go with reefs, although I also bought and excellent pair of flip flops from Timberland (which are easy to walk in) part of their cool wool range the insole is made of wool and remains really cool even in the hottest of Florida summers

Hi Lesley

My DH loves his trainers. He can't stand anything between his toes, so never wears flip flop type shoes. Crocs are out of the question also.
He has a pair of raft type sandals that he wears on holiday only. He wore these on our cruise for the day and took a pair of 'dress' shoes for the night.
He has just bought a pair of these

Don't know if your DH would wear this type.

my dh is the same it's trainers or nothing, i have suggested crocs and sandals similar to the ones pictured above but he's not budging

i think i spotted those one pictured in next? would that be right?

my dh has admired his sons deck shoes from next but when i casually suggested a pair or something similar for him he gave me that look as if to say what's wrong with trainers

he's comfy in them so i have to accept it just like he has to accept that i find killer heels, g strings, stockings and whatever he suggests i wear as uncomfortable for everyday too
