How do you prevent weeds coming through blocks?
My husband put the special layer down (forgot the name) but we must have super strength weeds 😡 |

Water on Pathclear twice a year. Brush out the moss with a wire brush once a year.
If you Power wash it you must brush in new sand.

Fatal mistake sorry. You need to power wash on a hot day. Let the blocks get nice and dry and brush in bags of kiln dried block sand.
It’s finer than normal sand as it is bone dry so it can get down the joints.

Block paving
I sealed the paving with Resiblock sealant which has the advantage that it also goes into the sand and set the sand hard so will not come out with the pressure washer. Once a year, treat with Patio Magic, clean off any dead moss growing, pressure wash the drive and it looks like new. Takes a couple of hours. |

We had all of ours dug up prior to lockdown, and crush base put down, then it’s all had to go on hold and looks like a war zone now 🙈 looking forward to when it can all be finished, although understand it’s not the end of the world in the grand scheme of things!

As mentioned we jet wash it, weed kill it, then sand it. Some years we then seal it which also has a moss killer in it, but not always.
Around half a days effort once a year. |

We have the resin gravel, been down over 4 years,no issues, looks lovely. When we wash cars the water just drains through no puddles. No run off.

We had a tarmac drive at our last house, and as you have, the edges started crumbling
We had the edges cut back by the width of a granite set ( or cobble stone) . Inlayed them down both sides and the contractor filled the gaps with hot tar. It worked a treat The sets were reclaimed and previously used on a street, so were smoothed on top. |
