There are a few hotels at T4 or alternatively near Hatton Cross underground.

Another vote for the Renaissance. We had a lovely meal there the night before, and breakfast is a buffet with lots of choice. Be sure to look at the runway rooms, the view is great. Staying there again this year before our flight.

If I am flying Virgin from Heathrow, I book the Hilton Garden Inn at T2/3 which is walkable and mainly undercover.

The first time I walked it, it took me 45 minutes from being in the room to being airside because I had trouble finding my way. The second time I was 30 minutes for the same, room to airside.

Sorry to be late to the thread but here's a couple of my TR's for HGI T2/3 and PI T4 - yes they are old but they physical aspects of getting to and from LHR terminals haven't really changed.

HGI T2/3
https://DIBB.in/15177214

PI T4

You'll find my detailed TR in this thread and hope it helps.
(that one is older but apart from the Elizabeth Line now in use the advice remains the same)

Do you know what time you can have breakfast at the Premier Inn (T4)? Because with a flight at 8:20, you'll have to get up early...

We stayed in Premier Inn Terminal 4 last month, the night before our flight to MCO. The hotel itself was great but the Wi-Fi was absolutely rubbish in the lobby and didn't work at all in our room. And we are all on the o2 mobile network, which also didn't work at all in the hotel, couldn't get a signal at all, not even to make a phone call. But apparently the EE network works well, or so I hear. You can pay a small fee to upgrade to the Premier Inn 'premier' Wi-Fi and that might work better but we didn't bother as we were only staying for one night.

But like I said before, the hotel itself was great, and the walk to terminal 4 was minimal.

Always Hilton Garden Inn Terminal 2/3 if I’m flying out of Terminal 2/3 for me.
Come out of the hotel and just walk across the car park and that’s it!

I have decent price at Sofitel T5, coming from Manchester before flight out of T3 next day. Cheaper than Garden Inn. Recommended?

Just to clarify the terminal just across the car park is T2 and it is about a 10 minute walk to T3 through the connecting tunnel and there are luggage trollies and travelators. But the HGI T2/3 is definitely the most convenient for those terminals along with the Aerotel.
