I don't think we've met, and yet you joined in August 2006 and I joined the next month.

I only get involved in serious threads, because lifes too short to have fun.

Mick is right I do live in Osceola County in the Formosa Gardens area. I was born on Cape Cod and moved to the UK in 1990 after marrying my British husband. After 27 years we moved to the US. My daughters have both passports so had no issues and my husband does not work in the US and is still a UK resident. He does qualify for a Greencard but even for him it is time consuming and expensive.

As already mentioned getting a visa to live in the US is not easy if you aren't married to a US citizen. Unless you are a student, have a specialist job or enough money to start your own business it isn't very realistic. Even if you can start your own business that visa only allows your children to stay until they are 21!

A warning about jobs with work permits, if you lose your job you have a very limited time to find another qualified one before they will kick you out.

I know a lot move on the visa where you invest in and run a business (E2 I think it's called?) but as I understand it that route doesn't lead to a green card and if you have kids they have to return to the UK when they turn 21. ETA, sorry just seen Donna already mentioned this. Didn't read the thread before replying.

Yes, weird that, but I don’t post all that often, am more of a lurker

I did notice that you are a very serious dibber and are very knowledgeable in all aspects of life. Long may your sageism continue (is that even a word?)

We regularly chat about the Rolling Oaks restaurants and the state of Funie Steed Road.
This made me laugh, me and my mum regularly talk about Funie Steed Road 😂

I promised Donna that it would be our little secret but I guess it will be discovered soon . There were serious roadworks at the FSR junction with Entry Pont Bvd last November, They are now complete and you can now get from the lights at Legacy/27 to the lights at new Walmart on Old Lake Wilson without any lights in between. Thus avoiding 192.

You can also turn left off FSR to EPB and go the lights for Sherberth
