That's a tough one SF if your family are South we drive down to Brockenhurst to stay with our close friends who are originally from up North. We love to visit them but it's a long car journey. They would love to return to the North but their children were born and have grown up in Brock
Love both places very different in climate and culture but both areas beautiful in their own ways
It's a tough choice

Yes it is... I’ve done the drive to the NE for over 40 years (I know every route) ... we will see ...

North Yorkshire
My best friend lives there, also I’d be able to easily visit home in the north east

Kiwi yes!

I've lived on the south coast for a short while (very lovely indeed) and I'm from North Yorkshire (colder but equally lovely on the coast) so I kind of know both.
Obviously, you can get a lot more bang for your buck up north if you compare living on the coast in both locations but it's a tough call. Very hard decision...

And kiwi, yes, absolutely!
It's just that they're annoying. They're sloppy and sticky to eat, and I do so hate to get angry with my food!
