A good travel day Mel, and some first day shopping - very impressive.

You did have an early start, so you did well to stay awake as long as you did! I’m rubbish at that.

I love a hotel room with a kitchen. Not that I ever actually cook in them, but I like a decent sized fridge to keep drinks cool and allow me to sort out a simple breakfast or lunch occasionally. I often get fed up of eating out on holiday, but not sure I should admit to that on the Dibb.

It helps to have an exact list from a teenager to focus the mind

We often cook on holiday as where we stay often there are no restaurants or a limited choice! It was nice last night just to have a simple pizza watching TV! I am obviously not a true Dibber

Ooh...Dollarama! I got Poot and my nephews some excellent NHL cups at the one in Place Montreal Trust. We also bought an embarrassingly large number of candy bars that we can't get in Europe...

That's right...

C'est carachidébile!

If you rummage around there can be some really good things and the chocolate is way cheaper even for well known brands!

Finally sitting down to read this Mel, in anticipation of getting some tips for our imminent trip. My usual obsessive planning has completely fallen by the wayside as we recently moved house so I'm feeling completely unprepared! Just started off a Montreal list with the Eaton Centre, off to read the rest xx

I wasn’t keen the first time but by my fourth visit I really did like it!
