I once had a tub of Bisto gravy granules taken off me at MCO. Although the ingredients said there was no meat the customs officer said I couldn't take it in. I only took them as they are quite expensive in the States.

Was it the red one? Some of the other types of Bisto have beef extract in them. I now have a print off of the ingredients. Have declared it every time and not had a problem yet! Just takes one customs officer I suppose. We are at there mercy. For a holiday I would not be bothered at all, but I have to bring my yearly supply back!

What's in this stuff then if not meat extract?!

I was just thinking maybe onion but then why would it be brown? It is brown isn't it?

Potato Starch, Maltodextrin, Palm Oil, Salt, Wheat Flour (with added Calcium, Iron, Niacin, Thiamin), Colour (E150c), Sugar, Flavourings (contain Barley), Flavour Enhancers (E621, E635), Emulsifier (E322) (contains Soya)


Maybe the colouring? The one in the glass jar has meat extract in... best gravy or something?

Yeah the glass jar one has beef in. I know it's not the end of the world just if I can take it I'd like to!

You cant take the glass jar one with you, and nor have I ever seen it in Florida. Only the red cardboard tub one I'm afraid.
