Is it worth it?

The rest of the family (all adults) want to visit, none have done character dining before. My partner and I did on our last trip and personally we didn't enjoy it.
We will be paying oop as we are on the QSDP. We are planning on booking a couple of other table service meals, however not enough to warrant upgrading to the dining plan.
So is it worth going and paying oop? I understand it's a set price and you have to pay up front? Is that the full amount for all 5 adults or just a deposit?

Thanks for the help

We booked this last year for breakfast (4 adults), full amount taken at the time of making the reservation. It is quite expensive but we enjoyed the food and the OH got down on one knee and proposed to me!

If it's just because they want to do a character breakfast, there are cheaper option. Tuskets house, garden grill, Crystal Palace? All of which are buffet/family style making the food better value.

We want to see the princesses, so for us booking CRT is the obvious choice, many people say the food is average, but your not going for the food, it's the experience, the princesses, eating in the castle. Only you can decide if it's worth it. I did price up CRT vs Akerhuse and there wasn't that much in it for our family ance you added tax/tips to the prices I found online.

I think like many things at Disney, its something you want to experience or let the children experience...but would you do it again based on cost?

We did CRT Breakfast, we used the dining plan and as someone has said the whole experience was great and pleased we did it, as our girls loved it...i was pleasantly surprised the food was pretty good (despite what so many people say)...but I wouldnt do it again.

Princesses were a must for us last time so we did breakfasts at CRT and Akershus. DD loved both experiences and, eating in the castle was a once in a lifetime deal. We paid for both oop but, if going again, I'd only pay oop for Akershus as we thought the food and interaction were better.

If you want a memorable character experience, I've heard good things about dinner at 1900 park fare with Cinderella's stepmother and the ugly sisters.

This year we are trying Tusker House at AK which also gets good reviews.

They want to go for the experience of eating in the castle. If it was my decision I think I would leave it. I'll feedback your above points and see if it changes their minds. I don't eat enough on the menu to warrant spending that kind of money.
Thanks for the advice
