Flying Fish at Boardwalk - reviews?

Has anyone dined there recently? I would really be interested in your comments and thoughts. There are very few recent dining reviews of Flying Fish , we watched a recent DIS Unplugged review but can't find any others that are recent.
Thinking of booking as a surprise for DH for our last night in Disney as its our wedding anniversary, but I think I will need to pay OOP as my daughters have chosen their TS meals and we won't have enough credits left for here as its a signature restaurant.
I should explain that our daughters are celebrating their 18th Birthdays and our forthcoming trip is their birthday present from us, which is why they have chosen the ADRs for their chosen restaurants.
Normally I get to plan meals and fastpasses, so its been a refreshing change to have others plan, but I know DH would love it here and he deserves a treat for putting up with me all these years!

Went there before the refurb last year expensive but amazing I'd have to say it's worth it

We like it. had our 10th anniversary meal there. It's very laid back and has an almost cafe feel to it, but the food is good and well presented, plus Boardwalk is generally a nice area to be of an evening. I think like a lot of these things, it does depend of the server you get, but overall a good choice I would say.
