Avis Preferred at MCO - Dummies Guide!
Apologies for touching on a topic covered in many posts, but I just can't seem to find the specific answers...
I'm registered with Preferred and called to check my booking is associated with this. All fine. But I'm quite fussy and would like to know exactly what I need to do after I land and convinced Uncle Sam to let me into his country. Many posts say 'to go straight to the garage', but where is the garage? What level is it on? Can I go to A or B side? How do I get to it? Also, as it's my first time as 'Preferred', exactly what do I do when getting to this garage? Simple baby steps would be ideal for me, please! Thanks in advance. |

Its so simple...even I can do it
When you land , get the shuttle/tram to baggage reclaim in main terminal , then follow signs for car rental ; .To quote Avis ; Preferred Service ; 6:00 AM to MIDNIGHT Take tram to main terminal (exits on 3rd level). Follow signs and use escalator or elevator to baggage claim facility on the 2nd level. Take the elevator or escalator (near Carousels 6 & 13) down to the tunnel level. Walk across the tunnel to the garage and take the elevator to the second level. Exit the elevator and proceed to the Avis kiosk inside the garage. An Avis representative will be ready to assist you. MIDNIGHT to 6:00 AM Take tram to main terminal (exits on 3rd level). Follow signs and use escalator or elevator to baggage claim facility on the 2nd level. Take the elevator or escalator (near Carousels 6 & 13) down to the 1st level. Exit the elevator & proceed to the Avis counter. An Avis representative will be ready to assist you & direct you to your vehicle in the garage across from the terminal. TIME for tram ride: 1 minute DISTANCE from counter to garage: 50 yds" PS; When you land at MCO Preferred members should get an email/text telling you which bay your car is in , also your name will be on an overhead screen at the garage, so have a look before going to kiosk in case you want to swap/upgrade your car . Have fun ! Edited at 08:07 PM. |

Very straight forward as mentioned above.
Literally go to the Avis pod in the garage, have your driving licence and credit used on the booking to hand and you'll get the keys. We wouldnt do car hire any other way 😃

Thanks for this.
I've seen that from Avis before, and to be honest, that's what confused me, as I'd also been told that you get to the garage by going across the road from the Avis rental desk on Level 1 (a sign tells Preferred members to go over). Presumably if you do that, you get over and only need to go up one level, not two, so in effect it's the same thing? Cheers. |

When you get to the lift or escalators, each of the renatal companies are clearly marked showing you which floor you get off at. You can't really go wrong
The other comment to add from the instructions below. If you end up at "street level" when you pick up your bags you can cross the road to the garage (using the crossing) you don't have to go down as far as the tunnel. Whichever you choose just follow the signs to the garage (not car rental) and it's easy to find.
