Hi everyone! We're now sadly home after our short and sweet week in Orlando! Wish it could have been longer! Any way let's get started with this food report as there's quite a bit to get through!
Day 1 We'll begin with the lunch we ate during our flight as that's still technically Day 1! These were the meal choices on offer for our flights, not the most inspiring I might add! I went for the Pulled Beef and Lisa went for the Tomato and Ricotta Rigatoni. Both meals came with a bread roll, a salad, some crackers with a serving of Boursin cheese and a Gü Banoffee pudding. The meals were both okay, nothing fantastic but hey it was a airplane meal and they were both edible! It was something to do to pass some time anyway. Strangely though, airplane mash seems to always be amazing, so buttery and smooth. Weird huh? After a long day travelling, we finally arrived in Orlando and after checking into the Rosen Inn at Pointe Orlando, we dumped our bags and headed straight for the nearest Publix to grab some supplies. We grabbed some essentials like Oreos, Mountain Dew, Powerade, plenty of candy and some potato chips. All the things a growing boy needs. Then it was off to the Magic Kingdom! After hitting a few rides, we were both starving and so thirsty from trying to acclimatise to the Florida heat! We stopped by Casey's for the first time to grab ourselves a hot dog. We decided to share the BBQ Slaw Dog after seeing the size of some of the hot dogs that were leaving the counter. They're huge! As you can probably tell from the picture, this was quite a messy eat! The hog dog is topped with a large serving of bbq pulled pork and topped with slaw and a drizzle of bbq sauce. It was served with fries and we got two large sodas. The hot dog was good! It was a total mouthful and it got everywhere but it was certainly tasty! The bbq pork was sweet and smokey and the cold slaw against the hot dog and hot pork was a nice contrast. I would definitely go back to Casey's to try some of the other toppings! |
