Do I need anything else from Alamo Brits?

Hi - I've booked a hire car through Alamo Brits, can someone just reassure me I don't need anything else other than the standard package they offer. I've declined the breakdown and roadside recovery options that came up when I did the "skip the counter" process. I'll probably take out the toll pass and tank of fuel options just for an easy life, but just wanted reassurance that I don't need any extra insurance for DH or I?

Thanks everyone

With that you are absolutely fine. You just need
Paperwork.
D/Lic.
Credit card.

The fuel you can add on at the exit barrier. Nothing to do ref SunPass it just kicks in as you drive through the Sunpass lane on the first toll.

Roadside Assistance Alamo sells is a rip off! It does cover the windscreen and underbody etc but if you did want it then you can buy it from companies in the UK for a fraction of the price. Most Dibbers dont but a few do. Your decision.

Thanks Tom Morrow-I was sure I'd read previously that the basic package covers all your insurances which is clearly the main concern. Just made me question myself when I had to click to decline a couple of things. Looking at your countdown, imagine you're also hoping for a break in the weather!

Looks better from Thursday on. We are there for 4 weeks so I am sure it will be fine!
If not we go back 7 weeks after we get home anyhow!

I can see the appeal of going there for a few months in the winter once I'm retired - only 45 now tho! When kids are older I'd like to be able to go out there during the non peak times, I reckon we could go twice off peak for the price of one on peak holiday.

We do off peak in late April/May to avoid Easter
Mid Aug to get the raging heat - love it!
Early Nov for a bit of warmth and final blast of the Parks to get us throught the Winter

May change and over Winter in a few years, will see.

Funny I was just thinking about this yesterday, so thanks for asking (and answers). I have just been drilling into hubby not too take any extras and check balance is $o, as we have prepaid. I did the whole time save/straight to garage thing but hubby driving licence details somehow reverted back to his previous detail used with Brits Alamo and they say we can't change this over the phone so have too go to desk. Dh and ds are going to go straight to hire desk while myself and dd wait for luggage. So hopefully it will not slow us down too much. Off topic but how do u pay for luggage trolleys? Cash/card have never needed one before.

You have lost me slightly ref reverting to his license?
Do you mean he has renewed his photocard so the expiry date is different?

With regard to trolleys they are in those 'automated slide rows' where you have to insert coins to get them to release. I dont know how much they are as I have never used them but I think when you put them back it retains your money. Not like Asda trolleys!
