And yet its ok to house dolphins at Discovery cove for the enjoyment of humans who turn up to "swim" with them every day.
I wonder if they get much of a choice over this interaction? Hypercritical?

It is indeed good news. I don't mind them taking care of rescued or injured animals, but to perpetuate the breeding programme of a species that is not endangered in the wild is just wrong. There are ways to educate the public about these wonderful and intelligent animals without making them perform 'stunts' all day, particularly when things go wrong and the animal gets vilified. Just my opinion.

Whilst I agree it's good news for Orcas, the cynic in me feels Seaworld have been forced into this position recently due to the declining health of Tilikum. Once he dies, do they/would they have another male orca from which to continue the breed in captivity anyway?

I won't visit this theme park again until every tank is empty of these large beautiful animals.
Times are changing, no matter what they do they still can't create anything that rivals their natural open waters. |

Sad that so many animals had to suffer for this change to be made.
Maybe next they will stop dressing up sea lions, swimming with dolphins, etc. |

In my opinion its not the interaction of dressing the sea lions or swimming with dolphins (who in fact really seem to enjoy human interaction) its the cramped conditions in which these beautiful majestic creatures are made to live in.
I have loved to watch them performing over the years and have great respect for them, however in my naivety I was honestly shocked to see the conditions in which they live.
