We like both. Personal preference for me would be TL

Our choice is always TL now the kids are older (15 yrs) as they spend most of the time in the wave pool.
When they were younger they loved BB for the kids section with zip wire etc. Hmm tough choice but if they like activity style pools rather than just wave pool & slides I go with BB 😀

I got an email from TripAdvisor today with the top 25 water parks in the world listed! Typhoon Lagoon came 4th, Blizzard Beach 7th and Aquatica came 11th. That's the right order for us - TL is our favourite, but as other poster have said I would do both!

I love BB, mainly for the family raft ride.

Plus everytime we go to TL, it thunders and we have to leave, always seems to happen.

TL for us too, but maybe BB is better for little ones. My kids love the big wave at TL, was disappointing when we went last in December and TL was closed

Both are great fun. We prefer TL but I suspect for your younger child BB would be more fun.
