Mobile Where to eat on Thanksgiving?

Some restaurants do call ahead seating but i know some dont.
We would be off site and enjoy most Americany style places so looking for ideas

Or Would it just be best to buy food and eat at our apartment?

We had a lovely Thanksgiving Day dinner at Villa de Flora in Gaylord Palms a few years ago.

It was a buffet. Extensive choice and excellent quality. VdF is located in the atrium and there's a section devoted to the Everglades with live gators

We had a superb Thanksgiving Day Dinner at the Harvest Restaurant at the Hilton Bonnet Creek. Like Villa de Flora it's a quality buffet with a huge choice (including Thanksgiving favourites like Turkey, sweet potatoes &marshmallows and pumpkin pie) as well as some less traditional fare. Although it was a hotel based restaurant it was full of Americans rather than foreign tourists. We booked about 3 weeks in advance and were glad we did as we saw quite a few families without reservations being turned away.

Second the Gaylord Palms. You'll need a reservation.

If you want to eat in your apartment you can order a pre prepared Thanksgiving Meal at Publix and just follow the reheating instructions.

Turkey, dressing, mashed potatos and two sides. $45 last year.

Be prepared that some restaurants close on Thanksgiving. We were in Fort Lauderdale last year and were really surprised how much was shut! It's very much family time in the US. However in Orlando it may be different.

I think you'll find that most of the restaurants in the tourist area will be open, if you go anywhere else you need to check before you go. Thanksgiving is a huge family holiday lots of shops/restaurants will be closed.
