Suncream

I am going to Disney end of next August for 17 nights and staying at Port Orleans French Quarter.

Would you take suncream with you, or would you buy it when you get there? Would it be cheaper to buy it there?

Many thanks

Unless you have allergies etc I would buy it there.

The spray-0n factor 50 stuff is amazing and you can buy it as an own brand over there in the supermarkets very cheaply. We usually bring back 6 or so cans to last us for our non-disney holidays every other year. Just be aware that it can stain white clothes and also removes toenail varnish! I lined the kids up in their underwear by the pool (stood on a towel) and sprayed them all over every morning. Worked well with an odd top up in the parks on shoulders half way through the day.

Last year I took half a bottle of what we had left as I had heard the sun cream over there was superior to ours and it was! We used Coppertone in the aerosol spray and is honestly so easy to use. I think it was Target that sold a twin pack of the large bottles for less than what one small bottle would be here then bought a smaller one to put in the park bag for top ups throughout the day

I took some ultrasun with me but found cream so hard to put on, especially later in the day when we were all sweaty, after 2 days I bought some coppertone at Typhoon Lagoon and we went through a further 4 bottles in the 18 days (5 of us and 3 not very small) but it worked really well, we bought further bottles from Walmart, wish we bought some home for our holiday to Lanzarote next summer now!

I don't know if they still sell it over here but the last time we were in florida (17 years ago) we were told that one of the best brands to buy that a lot of the locals use is panama jack, and the aloe vera cream aftersun, it really was good but it was quite expensive. BUT we found the same stuff in bargain stores over here like b&m and home bargains. I think it's because it's not a big name brand as much over here, or it wasn't back then.

Oh yes you have reminded me... Their aftersun is amazing too. We still have a bottle of pure aloe vera gel from Walmart which is going strong several years later. Also they do Aftersun with lidocaine ( pain killers) which you can get off the shelf. Very strong stuff so use with care and not for kids but again, cant get it over here so bought some back with me last time.

Thanks for this tip, I had been unsure whether to take my own or not too. We are staying in the Rosen Inn Pointe for 1 night before we check into Universal and there is a Walgreens straight across the road I believe, so I'm just going to buy this when I get there. Had a look on Walgreens website and a twin aerosol pack is $16.
