Is it worth it?
I am trying to decide whether to plan in a shopping day during our week in April
We are 4 adults (friends celebrating all of our 50th), staying at SSR without a car and are only there for a week. Two of us would like to go shopping but this would mean organising transport such as a one day car hire or a taxi. I would prefer to go to the Florida Mall which I love but is much further away than the Vineland Premium outlets which don't really do it for me. Added to this is the poor exchange rate which makes me wonder if it is worth it at all. But on the other hand would we feel a bit "fenced in" doing 24/7 Disney for a week? Any thoughts or advice please? BB

You could user Uber to get to the Florida Mall, much cheaper than a regular taxi, especially if you share the cost between two. If you bring a phone and have the Uber app installed, it will show you the price when you input your journey. If you do choose to Uber, stay in touch..I have an Uner discount code you can use.

Despite the exchange rate I would still have a shopping day, just to get out and about a bit. You could have lunch in the food court and maybe look in the shops we don't have here - such as Bath & Body Works, Victoria's Secret (I know we have a few in the UK now). Macy's is always worth a browse and always have sales of some sort.
I was there in Nov and did a lot of shopping, got some bargains but also got stuff I can't get here which made lovely unusual Christmas presents. Linda xx |

We went in November despite vowing that we wouldnt.
We didnt buy anything big and did notice that the exchange rate had an impact on our decisions, but we bought things like Bath & Body works and other bits we couldnt get at home. It was also a nice break from the parks. |

It is nice to have a look around the shops and you can get some real bargains.
However, the exchange rate is shocking and has meant we've put back stuff that we've picked up as it's cheaper at home; we returned some items for a refund as an online check showed them cheaper in the U.K. It really helps if you've an idea of what the brands/items cost in the U.K. to help your decision. We bought brands at Christmas in Nordstrom Rack (James Perse & NYDJ) for around $40 which are on sale here for upwards of £140 so they were great bargains. However, there were surprises, e.g., Gap which you would assume that as a US brand would be cheaper there, an item in the US store was $25 but in the U.K. store right now it is £10 (, i.e. $12-13); same for other Gap items too.
