Agree with others in taking as much stuff in case - i.e cereal,long life milk, sugar, tea, coffee, juice boxes etc...

Remember to factor in petrol and leaving a full tank if signed up to that option.

Also, some hotels take a security deposit on card and that can take days to be credited back on.

Lastly, might be worth considering if they had an emergency - health, travel, weather, etc can all cause issues and having no 'emergency card/funds' would be my worry...I assume they have a CC just in case?

If they can get a credit card (one with an interest free purchases period) that may be the way to go. Not saying go mad on it but better than spending all that money and travelling all that way and having to scrape by. Even if they just put £500 on the card it would give them some leeway to not be worrying about every penny.

ETA just seen this is an oldish thread, hope the couple got on ok
