I guess it’s down to what your child wants to do a re getting the results and what they plan to do re college etc.

My eldest sits his in 2021 which is the next Florida holiday I’m planning. I know 100% he will want to get his results in school with his mates and there will be parties and stuff after results. I wouldn’t want to deprive him of that.

Then there’s college. Some colleges need you to register BEFORE the term begins. And we wouldn’t know the date of this before I book. Plus if you fall short of your expected grades you might need to ring round and find an alternate college or change course from A”level to btec etc. Fretting over this from the US would spoil the holiday for me.

So I’m looking at last week July / first 2 weeks August.

I’m not prepared to take my youngest out of school early so we are stuck to peak flights. That’s life.

I don’t get why people come home early sept and into the new school year just to save a bit of cash. I’d hate for my 2 to miss the first day or couple of days of the new school year. It’s always daunting the first day back and even more so if everybody else is already back, friendships renewed, know where they should be, place on the footy team etc.

When you set up your flight alerts add an alert for the airlines who code share as some will offer the same flight cheaper.
Virgin code share with delta, Air France, klm
Ba with American Airlines , Aer Lingus , finnair. Even if one of those other airlines sell you the flight if it’s direct it will only be virgin or ba
Hi,

Please excuse my ignorance but how do I add the code share? We are looking to return next year.

TIA

£3066 flydrive with upgraded car and Economy delight direct from Glasgow for 2 ad 2 ch 16-31st which I didn't think was too painful ! Ideally would have gone from Newcastle as we did last time but they weren't dropping much below £1000 pp and was Monday flight which I didn't really want.
