I'm planning on going in 2021 for the 50th anniversary, my kids will be 5 & 3, and from what I've seen there's no issue taking these ages as long as you've planned and thought things through.

I'll answer the bonus question;

Nothing has been booked, and probably won't be booked until the back end of next year.

My planning is based off the trends I've seen in flight costs for the dates I've selected, it has come up cheap for the past number of years (around £300-400 per person) and it's around the time of my Girlfriend and daughters Birthday, but nothing's booked yet as flights aren't released until about 11 months prior, so I'll be looking at next May earliest.

A tip is to always have the flights booked before the other parts of your holiday, otherwise you could have a very expensive mistake to fix!

DD was 4 when we took her to WDW, son was 2 when we went to DLP, both lovely ages and enjoyed themselves. Mine are older now, but as an onlooker I love seeing the interaction between babies and toddlers and the characters, really makes me smile, so I would say go for it xx

We take our grandsons every 3 years. The first time they were 1 and 4...actually it was the elder one`s 4th birthday the day we went and the baby had his very first haircut in the barbers at MK, so very special.
Since then we`ve been when they`re 7 and 4, 10 and 7, then this year they were 13 and 10. Every time is different, every time is amazing. We find leaving a gap between visits makes it really special, and as they`re so much older every time they get different things from each visit.

Thank you all so much! Best get saving then, planning to take him April 2021 (no coincidence it'll be right before he turns 3 and needs a ticket to the parks haha!)

Priced it all up and will just start saving each month now and then book next year when flights are out. SO excited!

I think any age is wonderful. I think too much emphasis is put on whether a not a child will remember it. They might not remember trips to the park/zoo/museum/UK holidays either, but it doesn't come into consideration with those trips/holidays, does it?

I know it's a far more expensive thing to do, but if you can afford it and will enjoy it, then just go for it. Anything could be around the corner that stops you going at a later date, so seize the day I say!

Very true, DreamDisney!

Is it too soon to start counting down the days? (586 days )

They may not remember that much but you will, I have fantastic memories of our children, even simple things like swimming in the pool at night

If you'd like them to remember it I'd say 5 or 6. If you don't care if they don't remember it then any age, it doesn't matter.

Ours will be 4, 5 and 8 when we go to WDW next year. Since it's not a holiday we can afford to do frequently I wanted to wait until my youngest was tall enough to go on a good amount of rides. We went to DLRP when they were 1, 2 and 5 and had a brilliant time, so many lovely memories

Everleigh was 16 months on her first trip (she’ll be 3 almost 4 this time!) and she still talks about it constantly! Her favourite thing to do is look at our holiday photos... she had the best time ever!

Even if she doesn’t really remember I know those wonderful memories will last me a lifetime, it’s such a magical place for people of all ages... I don’t think there is a right or wrong age at all.
