Love threads like this.

I have thought about converting our garage a lot over the years. We have a door from the kitchen into the back of our garage and are in and out of it constantly. The only thing stopping us is the garage is full of stuff. Cleaning equipment, bikes, paint, garden chairs, extra freezer, drinks - you name it it’s in there and there is nowhere else to put everything. I would do the same as you if we had a double garage.

Love a building thread 👍.

We’ve decided to use our cancelled holiday to change some more windows, and install a new composite front door. We’ve still got 6 more windows to change, but as they are fairly large, that’s going to be an ongoing project! We’ve also bricked up the french doors in the lounge and replaced with a window. Just need the plumber to move the radiator and then we can decorate it. All things we probably wouldn’t have done if the holiday had gone ahead.

My sister in law has a door from her garage into the house. She's split the garage in half for storage and the other half a kind of utility room. My friend did the same and out a second kitchen in with wine fridge and gym equipment

A new bathroom is how we're planning on spending this year's holiday budget too. We've got the first person coming to quote today but if it's anything like you've been quoted we'll be changing our plans!

We'd also like new patio doors and a new back door, and understairs storage fitted. It'll all depend on the quotes that come in though.
I'm hoping individuals/companies aren't going to be hiking their prices up to compensate for the past few months.

Ours is a reasonable sized bathroom, it included everything, ceiling, wall and floor tiles, shower cubicle, bath etc , but I was expecting it to be around £6000
