Epcot is not the classic coaster-junkie and screaming ambient music park. It requires you to slow down, watch and think.

And drink around the world.

i love the ambience as it's just getting dark around the world showcase. I love the unity that it represents. The food. The drink. Illuminations Lots of memories with my family.

Agree, for rides it's probably not the best and can't compete with the other parks. It's what you want really.

We loved Epcot! It's probably the park I'm most looking forward to going back to, perhaps because I feel we haven't quite spent long enough there. I'm looking forward to exploring the world showcase at a more leisurely pace and to more snacking around the world
I think this just what I loved so much about WDW, the fact that each of the parks was so different and had a distinct 'quality', and the sum of experiences/rides/etc felt greater than its parts.

I love Epcot. So much more chilled out than the other parks, especially MK, and much more space.
We love Soarin' Test Track, Mission Space, Frozen, Spaceship Earth...

Each to their own though if it's not your sort of park, don't go

Epcot is my least favourite park. Will be interesting to go back in a few years once all the work has been done. We’re going this year but not planning on spending much time there. enjoy the fireworks and Soarin and spaceship earth. Think test track is pretty average. Also food and drink is so expensive if not on dining plan so that side of things doesn’t appeal either.

The 2 top tier rides are probably the worst in the 4 parks and I don't remember any good shows.

I've seen loads of folk saying that it's their favourite park and that they allow 2 days to visit. What is it that I'm missing and what is it that people enjoy so much.
I also cannot see what some others can see in Epcot. I have allocated one of my pre bookable FP days to it but will probably only book Frozen because everything else is so average, I can barely be bothered. I cannot understand why so many people like Soarin’, it is atrocious!

I think the World Showcase would be very interesting for a first time visitor, but as repeat visitors, we don’t need to spend a lot of time on it. I will be allowing two three hour trips to Epcot on next trip, that includes time spent dining.

I'll be on the dining plan and staying close by at Yacht club so will likely just allocate a few evenings there for the food and wine festival, and a meal at via Napoli.

EPCOT is our favourite park. It the atmosphere of the place we like. The landscaping, the music they play, the illuminations. It’s just that it seems more relaxing than the other parks. D W isn’t into coasters or fast rides so there is more to do as a whole family. We go in July, and a few things will be missing such as the big fountain so we may find it not as relaxing with all the construction going on, but we’ll see.

A waffle on Epcot...

Epcot is a divider of opinions for sure, almost a marmite of theme parks. I'd imagine for the first time visitor going from, for example, a revised Hollywood Studios to Epcot, they'll wonder why the extreme differences also Epcot was in desperate need of this phase of regeneration.

We visited for the 6th time, last September, and over the last 12 years and we still love Epcot. Our teenage girls on the first time visit also loved it. Now visiting as just two adults, it opens up even more - as has been pointed out, dig deep into each of the countries and there is so much to see. Take your time. The last visit we left at France and went to Broadwalk for a couple of hours for the first time - it was great as well.

Hopefully the facelift for UK and new rides in France plus, of course, Frozen already opening and all the changes around the concrete of the fountains, the gondolas, beauty and the beast sing-a-long, new Canada show, new dining and HarmoniUS (the nighttime show) should be amazing and will be just additions to the fun as opposed to be being required.

Epcot was Walt's dream - and on his death Disney decided it was too expensive to be an actual "community of tomorrow" and hence the World Showcase and Innovation Centres.

Always remember a work colleague saying if you go to epcot they will not enjoy so much as it was a park more for adults. When I finally got there I found he was correct. As an adult with no children on my visits, I have always loved epcot, find there is so much to see and do
