As I said, I understand everybody wants to make a buck especially when there are no benefits or free health system, but there are better ways of doing that surely? At other places we could look at stuff and handle it without the pressure - thus we bought items. Much of the souvenir items were, as they are in many countries, made in China. That's why I like the Topsy Turvy dolls. They are made, at least, within the Caribbean. There was no mention of the kind of situation we encountered in the current guide books but when I write my own there will be.

Could just do with a spa treatment like that now! Such a shame about the market hassle, hearing things like that really puts me off.

I hate being hassled when shopping its really off putting you did the right thing going back to resort I think! Its funny seeing so many weddings in one place on our honeymoon we saw three in one day, it was like a wedding conveyor belt! I wouldnt want there to be 'other brides' if it was my wedding day oh no!
