Destination Suggestions
Hi All
Due to some changes / rescheduling of our trip, we’ve ended up with a block of about 4 days with nowhere to go and nothing to do! I wouldn’t normally complain, except for the fact that there’s nowhere I can think of going. I’ve put a route below, can anyone suggest anywhere we might be able to stop for a few days through the gap? We don’t want Yosemite, Monument Valley or Grand Canyon San Juan Island Las Vegas Gap (Passengers split up here) DLC / San Jose HW1 roadtrip LA (brief 1 night) San Diego We split upon leaving Vegas, and I don’t want to being DLC forward if I can help it as it means being there Friday to Monday and I would rather avoid the weekends due to crowds. We’re not hikers / walkers if that helps! Any help or suggestions are appreciated! Many Thanks Gill

That was one of the earlier plans, however we were advised on here that the park would already be in the shutdown stages due to weather when we were there.
We’re hopefully planning it for a separate road trip within the next couple of years X

I loved Palm Springs area when I went 3 years ago, well I stayed in Palm Desert as it was cheaper. Especially loved driving round the Anza Borrego desert and seeing the big metal sculptures, so amazing! Plus you can drive up to most of them or just see them from the road so no hiking needed. Also you get to see the badlands on the drive with pull outs to look over it.

Tramway at Palm Springs
USS Midway at San Diego Oops just realised what GAP was haha Between Vegas and San Jose there are lots of places to stop off on way up/down the Pacific Coast Highway Elephant Seal Rookery, Hearst Castle, Moonstone Beach, Solvang, Monterey etc Ronald Reagan library was also a highlight for us. Sorry, should have been clearer.
We’re flying (in separate directions-at the minute) from Las Vegas. We plan to finish the trip in San Diego and fly home from there, but we’re meeting back up at the end of Anaheim/LA to travel there together

Where are you flying from Vegas to?
And who is in your party, all adults, young children, teens? And where is San Jose coming into it, are you driving LA-San Jose and back? You might be better off cutting out the return trip and going to San Fran and working your way down to LA. Edited at 01:47 PM. |
