Merlin 2024 - you must prebook RAP visits
I'm posting here mainly to raise awareness, as it seems that emails have not been distributed (or received) by all ...
If you have a Merlin "Ride Access Pass" for disability, you will now have to prebook a RAP visit to your chosen park on your chosen day using the barcode on your RAP card. There is no longer the ability to spontaneously rock up to the park with RAP card in hand, and expect to be able to use the virtual queuing system (app or timecard) - you MUST prebook. Now the chances are, if you have a RAP card, you already know this through other forums or FB groups. But it seems that not everybody knows about this, so the more we can spread the word, the better. So please, please, please check the website for the Merlin park that you want to visit, go to their RAP information page, and prebook your visit. There are explainers on the websites, there's an explanation video (somewhere). The FB groups have lots of FAQs about what to do if your barcode won't register. Just don't be caught out.

And just to add to this , you may find the date you intend to visit has no option to select the pass as they have already issued them all for that day. Eg easter weekend

Just think this is all a bit rubbish…..often you can’t fully plan & weather changes
Days out are enough of a challenge when you have a child or adult with learning disabilities & this just adds another complication to it…. Was looking into buying a year pass now won’t 🤬 Rant over….

You're not the first person to say this. One of the benefits of having an annual pass was the ability, especially if local, to make spontaneous visits. [I swear I'm the only spontanous person on this site ...]
Just please do remember to cancel so that those RAP spaces are opened up for others.

Yes you need to book but you can do so last minute for entry with the new pre book rap system it means you need to pre empt when you go and possibly have to book weeks in advance rather than last minute. I recently brought annual passes and can’t get a rap pass booking for the theme parks on a weekend for about a month - yes we can still visit the parks any weekend during that time but wouldn’t be able to use the rap system which means it’s not worth going.
