Getting Excited

Feels like I’m in the minority, but I flew Virgin Economy to Seattle last week and thought the food was good.

For the outbound, the lunch was a choice between BBQ Chicken or Mac and Cheese. I went for the Mac and Cheese which had a herb crumb. Came with a quinoa salad on the side with the usual bread and cheese etc.

This was followed by a cheese and tomato toasty. It wasn’t super crunchy, but I wouldn’t describe it as soggy either.

Then finally for the outbound leg I had the afternoon tea, which you can’t go wrong with.

On the return leg, I can’t remember what the other option was, but I had the chicken tikka masala. Not really that spicy, but the chicken was nice and tender.

For breakfast, I had a sausage muffin. This was probably my least favourite meal of the trip. But it must have been ok because I’d eaten it before I thought to take a photo!

The menu may have changed by the time you fly. On another forum someone had pre ordered in PE for next week and its a different menu to the current one.

Last time I went it was BBQ chicken or pasta and coming back it was a curry or pasta.

I'm not much fuss on the breakfast on the return because of the time zone changes when arriving back.

update.
Virgin Atlantic is set to launch its new autumn/winter menu across all cabins this week, on October 2, 2024. The airline's latest culinary offering focuses on modern British cuisine, seasonality and comfort.

Oooh better get on and look at the Upper Menu before we get the email so we ready to choose...

The 'Special' from LHR is apparently Crusted Atlantic Cod - sounds good

When we flew out (Man to Mco) on Sept 23rd we was offered Mac and cheese or bbq chicken. No issues, chicken was half decent. The issue for us was the kids meals, every single vlog we’ve watched, the kids meal has been chicken strips/fingers, great, our son is a chicken person so that was fine for us. Of course the kids meals was pasta in tomato sauce for our flight so unfortunately he went without.
