Ok so, the terms of the offer advise the following dates:

"Free Dine Offer is available to book 19 April – 6 November, 2018 for selected arrivals and participating resorts 1 January – 7 April, 2019 and 26 April – 30 November, 2019. Free Dine is available to book in Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts for selected arrivals from 1 January – 7 April, 2019 and 26 April – 16 September, 2019 only."

2 questions:
  • Why have they changed the villa availability in line with 11 month rule? I appreciate something to do with DVC home bookings? Still, I wonder why the change?
  • Even when I check dates within 11 month window the availability of resorts like SSR and OKW seems much less than previous years?

General pricing changes looks to me like "Recession over, time to revert to making big bucks?"

I miss being able to book 14 nights in SSR for 2 adults with 14 day tickets and free dining for £1700! (image attached).

You’re not alone. We were looking forward to staying at OKW next year and would like to know how much it’ll be and get it booked.
I would day Disney have done this because they can. There was a major mess up this year with people having to move to more expensive resorts so I imagine they’ll want to avoid that too.

Where did you hear/read this?

Occupancy across all resorts seemed very high this year. We were there for 21 nights from 30th April.

There is a large thread on here about it. It seems to be September October bookings that are affected. We go late August and our booking is fine

They overbooked SSR & OKW from Sep-Nov meaning DVC owners couldn't get their bookings at their home resorts so they moved people to AKL/Beach Club and Wilderness lodge. They've changed it this year to stop this happening again.

Thanks - I have just spoken to an agent and they have explained that they have put a stop on all bookings for Oct, Nov, Dec 2019. It's a pain as these are within the offer period! I guess I will book for an earlier date and then change the dates.

Yes, as these are DVC resorts, the owners must come first.
There will only be a finite number of DVC Villas available to rack rate customers, and I assume WDTCUK are anxious to repeat last year’s situation.
Fewer villas available, in demand, prices rise. Basic rule of supply and demand. Disney would be silly not to apply it.
