Recommendations for Savannah
Hi , we’re currently in South Carolina and are travelling down to Orlando. Can anyone recommend a decent sensibly priced hotel in Savannah GA . Just for a stop off point . Thanks

We stayed at the Marriot Riverfront. Great views of the river and the hotel next door have a great rooftop bar and there are plenty of bars, eateries and shops literally a few steps away.

I am flying in to Dulles in September then driving down to Orlando with an overnight stop at Savannah. I booked the 'Inn at Mulberry Grove' just a couple of days ago. It is on the outskirts next to the I-95. I stayed there for 3 nights a couple of years ago. It is a 2-star budget motel-type place. I don't know what you class as 'decent'. When on a road trip I just want somewhere cheap but adequate - I don't spend time there, just need the bed and shower. When I was there before, I accidentally locked my car keys in the car, and the receptionist was helpful in calling the car hire people out for me.
It is only $55.85, including tax and breakfast, with free parking! Obviously not in the same league as the other suggestions, but good enough for me! I am not paying another $100 for more luxury that I don't need, plus possibly extra for parking. The downtown hotels can charge a premium because of their location, but I will just drive down to the waterfront for the evening and dinner anyway. |
