I've only just seen this thread but what a mammoth project to undertake!

Continued good luck with the push forward and I look forward to seeing how this all finishes up.

What a great space!
Sorry to hear about the fire.
It’s pretty awful. Happened to us when I was 12. I have pretty much nothing from life before that day.
Looking forward to seeing it all finished

The work you had done was beautiful, it’s such a shame about the fire.

Are the insurance company playing ball now? I have it in my head you did a thread about them delaying, and also about them refusing to pay for somethings, saying they weren’t necessary?

Thank you for sharing your renovation pics & story. Must be heartbreaking to see now after the fire. I’ll look forward to seeing it all fixed again

Thanks They stripped the playroom and my project manager had agreed that the bathroom has to be redone as for the plastering and skirting boards and electric heat mats I don't know yet.

They have taken out to tender and are deciding on a building company...It is a bit weird not having any say in it but at least if anything goes wrong it's not our fault.

I believe we will be able to discuss what is happening with the builders so we can discuss any changes we want at the same time. Who knows what the will have agreed to fix but if not I guess we will have to pay the difference .

Thanks Sorry to hear that. It must have been awful. We were lucky that most of our 'memories' were not damaged. However, I do find that between that and the loss of my mum it has made me less attached to stuff anyway.

We will always of our actual memories. I am hoping the kids will be able to get over it which is why I am wanting to change the look of the house completely so it doesn't trigger any of us

As long as nobody was hurt, nothing else really matters.
I’m not remotely materialistic and that’s probably why.
The only thing I really remember being an issue was that you really can’t replace everything for what you’re insured for 😱 Well, we weren’t able to. It made me seriously consider our contents insurance when I left home. It’s amazing how much an drawer full of underwear costs to replace as random example!
